NERF Belly Holsters

Why make a "belly" holster, you ask? That's simple; because everybody has a belly.

Seriously though, "belly holsters" or chest holsters have a long and storied history. In the Old West these types of holsters were made of tooled leather and often sported ornate decorations.

Belly holsters can also refer to the stealthy holsters that wrap around your waist like some kind of back support or girdle -- we aren't talking about that kind of belly holster.

The great thing about a chest holster is that they are up out of the way, leaving your hands and legs completely free for movement. We had used belt holsters attached to backpack shoulder straps in the past - and thought it was time to create some purpose built NERF chest rig holsters.

The Stryfe is a perfect candidate for this application - with the long 18 round extended clip  it makes sense to carry this iconic NERF SMG on your chest. The Stryfe variant features a large MOLLE holster and detachable MOLLE flashlight pouch.

We are low on black materials right now -- and have ample OD Green material. So these first few prototypes are made in OD green. We'll start stocking black in the near future.

The design works great. The blasters are held secure when running or going prone. You can lean over (inverted) and pick up items off the ground without the holster coming loose. It is very comfortable to wear -- it doesn't get in the way like a belt holster or thigh holster when running or jumping.

The Hammershot variant utilizes a thumb snap closure. The main shoulder strap is rubberized "gripper" webbing to help keep the strap in place minimize any shifting or movement.

We'll probably make these for the Maverick and Rapid Red as well -- maybe the Sweet Revenge if anyone shows any interest. You can find these and more at the Apex webstore.
